Lake MX238 Wide Fit Mountain Bike Shoes

These are the same fit as the highly regarded Lake CX238 Wide Fit but with Lakes Carbon Sole and Mountain Race X real rubber sole.

The wide version offers 15mm of additional volume at the ball of the foot over the standard width last.

MX Competition Last Featuring a larger toe box and tighter heel than the Comfort last and with slightly more overall volume than the Sport last. Exceptionally secure for hard riding/racing with enough room in the toe box to prevent binding when running up inclines or negotiating a hike-a-bike section. Designed for performance riding and racing.

Outsole: Lake Competition 100% Carbon Fiber Sole with Mountain Race X real rubber sole, 2 Bolt for SPD cleats

Upper: Fullgrain Water Resistant Premium Leather with mesh upper, Aramid and Helcor Abrasion resistant leather panels with Outlast and hook lycra heel lining. The Helcor Abrasion resistant leather is specifically designed to be extremely durable against rubbing, scrapes and scuffing. Hook lycra heel liner offers a firm grip to your foot for those walking sections.

Closure: Dual Side mounted Push/Pull BOA L5 lacing system with releasable lace guides.

Hi Rob, Thanks for the message. The MX238's are for 2 Bolt SPD cleats. All the Lake MX Shoes are for 2 Bolt Cleats. Gravel and Mountain Biking. Many thanks, Richard

If I’m a 42.5 size in the lake 402 road shoe, will I be a 42.5 in the mx238?

Hi Tim, Thanks for the message. The Lake CX402's (Lakes Race Last/Shoe mould) are narrower and a closer fit than the Lake MX238's (Lakes Competition Last/Shoe mould) The closest match to the CX402's would be the MX332 Dimensions can be found bottom of this page which gives a bit more detail. https://www.saltdogcycling.com/lake-shoe-sizing/ and we've got a tool here which shows the best way we've found to measure your feet and then gives the closest match to those dimensions in Length Width and Model. Great Service

Second pair of lake MX238s. Excellent fit and love the width and comfort. A quality cycling shoe for rugged New Zealand bike-packing terrain. Used my first pair doing the Tour Aotearoa (TA) and will use my new pair for my second NZ Sounds to Sounds brevet. For the Team at Salty Dog, excellent communication and service which I have come to expect. A far away thank you once again Richard.

The best shoes ever

Lake are a perfect fit for me, this is my 5th pair of lake shoes and 3rd pair of mtb shoes. A great upgrade from my MX176 every shoe is super comfortable no matter how long the ride. Highly recommend

Lake MX238 - shoes to fit real feet

Great service and comms from SDCycling. I am a big fan of Lake shoes, they fit, don't crush your feet and allow a nice toe spread. I went half a size up from my other Lake shoes to allow abit more space for waterproof socks. Highly recommend.

Lake MX238 Wide Fit Mountain Bike Shoes

Richard provided a great service when purchasing new lake mountain bike shoes to fit my troublesome wide feet. After a few discussions and an in person fitting I bought a pair of Lake MX238 wide fit. My first ride in them was a 3 hour MTB event at Coed-y-Brenin - not ideal for a first outing, but they were perfect and I got off the bike at the end with no pain. Great!

Guaranteed for one year from the date of purchase against manufacturer defects, workmanship and defective materials. Documentation showing purchase date is required. All Warranty claims are subject to approval by Lake or an authorized agent.

Road Shoes

Guaranteed for the usable life of the shoes meaning that the new products are free from defects in material and workmanship affecting form fit and function except with respect to refurbished products. However this guarantee does not apply to those products that have been misused or hardware that has been improperly installed. All warranty claims are subject to approval by Lake or an authorized agent.
