This is a very high quality lockable ABS case with an aluminium frame designed for the Brompton Bike but will also fit most other popular folding bike brands. There is a lot of attention to detail on this case, the locks are flush fitting an it has copious quantities of foam padding to protect your bike, also an additional fixed strap goes around the case for additional security.

The B&W Brompton Bike Hard Travel Case is also ideal for those who wish to touch base with the hotel before setting off on their bikes to explore. You wont upset the hotel staff, as even the muckiest bike can just be folded up and stored in the case, leaving the carpet in pristine condition!

The fully telescopic handle and the in-line roller skate style wheels make it a particular pleasure to use as an airline case, whether you are carrying a bike or not.

Will this case hold a T line

Yes. I believe the frame size and wheel size is uniform across all the Brompton models. The only differing factor between models is the handlebar type and the seat post size. As all T lines have a flat handlebar the handlebar is not a problem as this type is the smallest of the options. The factor to consider though is the seat post type. Brompton offers three different sizes/types of seat post. Standard, Extended and Telescopic. I purchased my C Line Explore from Brompton with an Extended seat post as I am a taller rider. However when purchasing this travel case I realised I needed to change to a Telescopic seat post in order for it to fit in the case and still extend to the desired height when riding. You could fit a Brompton in the case with an Extended seat post as well but it would mean completely removing the seat post from the frame when travelling and I prefer to have the ease of the Telescopic option.

Is the case a standard checked baggage size, or does have to checked “oversized luggage”?

It's no bigger than a large suitcase, and the case plus the bike comes in at about 20KG usually so you can throw a few extra liquids or any clothing that works as extra padding and you’re good to check it. I never mention a bike is in it. Just check it as standard luggage.

We checked in our case no problems - although we asked if they could put it in the fragile section so it would be treated better. Came out fine the other side.

An excellent case which has been made with such technical precision that my Brompton fits perfectly. I stuck high viz triangles over both sides of the case to protect it on my flight to Faro. Also the Airport staff treated the case with great respect. The sight with bike alone without lights was 20kiloscso that gives 2kilos to spare for dinamo or lights and padlocks. Well done Steve.

Hello, can you confirm that this Brompton case would definintely acccommodate the H (high bar) model, because they have about 2" longer neck, which has meant that I cannot get it into most cases at the moment. It would be crazy if it did not fit, but you never know. kind regards, Mandy

Hi. Yes, we've got the H model, and it does fit the case, but you have to remove the saddle.

Have you tried carrying this case on the rear rack? It looks like some careful use of straps and perhaps something to extend the width of the rack could work? I'm not suggesting long distances like that but from airport to hotel or similar?

I haven’t tried to do it, but I guess it would be possible. You have to ride with it vertically, probably, as it’s quick wide. It’s basically square, so if you laid it down flat on its sides I’d almost certainly get heel strike when you peddle. Vertically, on its wheels, along the length of the rack would avoid heel strike, but you’d need some serious strapping. But over a short distance, why not.

Exactly what you need.

After a really unhelpful deep dive on Google to find a solution to my “travelling with a Brompton” problem. The case is excellent quality and has lots of spare space once loaded with the bike. Highly recommended.

Just the ticket!

Exactly what i needed to transport my brompton long-haul from U.K. to USA. Managed to squeeze in a few items between the brompton, no issues checking it in as checked luggage, arrived intact the other end. Would recommend!

B&W Brompton Bike Hard Travel Case

I bought the travel case last year as part of my planning for my trip to Pescara in Italy this April .My hotel was about 25 minutes walk from my brother's house and I needed a quick and easy method of commuting between the two. Furthermore, Pescara has a nice, very long cycle path fronting the beach and I wanted to enjoy beach cafe hopping as well. My Brompton is an S6L red rocket folder (Black Edition). Once folded, it fits nicely into the case. I didn't need to remove any accessories or take the non-folding pedal off. I did stuff a bit of bubble-wrap over the fixed pedal but even that was just an extra precaution. The case went over with Ryan Air just as additional hold luggage; same as a large suitcase. No issues at all. The case is sturdy and you can drag it around at the airport same as any other luggage. I would highly recommend it. It kept my Brommie safe and sound. (PS I'm attaching pictures in case Salt Dog Cycling would like to add them.)
